Situated 12 miles to the south of Aberdeen on the A92, Logie Trout Fishery was established in 1988.
Set in lovely surroundings on the edge of Limpet Wood, the natural vegetation and plant life on both pools provides the fish with quality feeding, and with an abundance of insect life the evening rise at the fishery can be quite spectacular.
The excellent pure water is fed to the fishery from natural springs and a stream flowing from the moor some 2 miles away. Up to a million gallons of fresh naturally filtered water flows into the pools in any one day which helps give Logie its reputation for proving fit and healthy, hard fighting trout for the angler.
Den Pond
Mill Pond
The fishery has 2 ponds, the Den Pond and the Mill Pond, stocked mainly with Rainbow Trout ranging in weight from 2lb to 10lb. There are also some Brown Trout and Brook Trout to be had from both pools, although they prove to be much harder to catch.
Stocking is carried out on a weekly basis and is calculated off the catch return forms which must be completed before you depart the fishery. The catch return forms can be found in the fishing hut where fresh tea and coffee are always on offer to visiting anglers.
In February 2006, the bottom pool at the fishery was substantially extended and Logie, in conjunction with Trout Fisherman magazine became a Trout Masters venue. As with all Trout Master venues, a monthly competition to catch the heaviest fish takes place and the winners for the year hold a fish off to see who progresses to the national competition. An award is also made to the most consistent Troutmaster angler of the year.
Complimentary tea and coffee are always available at the fishing hut. If you fancy lunch under cover then comfortable seating and a television are provided.
On the other hand, if you fancy lunch outdoors, there are picnic tables and benches situated between the two pools on the well maintained grass embankment.
Our facilities include a heated fishing hut, tea and coffee, microwave, BBQ facilities and toilet.
